Volunteer Leadership Positions

Unmatched Athlete is looking for an Events Coordinator and a Marketing Coordinator to join our Leadership Team in 2023! We are looking for those who can give a minimum time commitment of at least 20 hours a month. The positions are volunteer—and will not include a stipend. Each position is described as follows. Events cOORDINATOR

SUMMARY

The Events Coordinators are volunteer positions, who are responsible for execution of events. The Events Coordinators, with the help of our volunteers, will help in planning and running Unmatched Athlete events. Events include pick-up games, climbing day events, partnership events, fundraisers, field trips, field days and workshops. The Coordinator positions are divided between handling events in the central area and capital area, central being Baltimore City, Baltimore and Howard County; and Capital being Prince George’s and Montgomery County. The Events Coordinators will frequently work with the Executive Director, Administrative Director, the Marketing Coordinators regarding planning events.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will:

  • Strategize and work with volunteers before, during and after events.

  • Coordinate with Executive Director and Marketing Director to plan events and pick-up games 

  • Confirm permits and/or book venues (fields/gyms). May also include site visits. 

  • Communicate with organizations and members regarding logistics before, during and after events

  • Point of contact for families using the Rideshare Transportation Program during events

Recommended Metrics

Reach an average of four families per event (average of 8-10 youths) that participate in the Rideshare Program by the end of 2023.

  1. 90% of members who have fully completed intake forms

  2. A minimum of 2 volunteers at events

INTERVIEW & SELECTION PROCESS

The organization seeks to add to the Leadership Team an unpaid volunteer position. The best candidate would exemplify traits that align with Unmatched Athlete’s mission and goals. As a means to get an idea of who we are and vice versa, interested candidates can expect to go through a one or two month period of attending Unmatched Athlete events and/or meetings.

After that, Unmatched Athlete Leadership and the Board will select candidate(s) for scheduled interview(s) during the second month of their interaction with us and no later than the following month. A decision may be made within a month of their interview depending on the number of applicants.


Marketing cOORDINATOR

SUMMARY

The Marketing Coordinators are volunteer positions, who will assist the Events Coordinators in planning and executing events for Unmatched Athlete. The Marketing Coordinators will work in tandem with the Events Coordinators regarding planning events.  The Coordinator positions are divided between handling events in the central area and capital area, central being Baltimore City, Baltimore and Howard County; and Capital being Prince George’s and Montgomery County. The Marketing Coordinator may at times work with the Executive Director and Administrative Director. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will:

  • Strategize and plan methods to increase new and increase returning youth participants at pickup games and events.

  • Outreach to schools relating to planning events and promotional opportunities i.e. tabling. May also potentially assist the Executive Director with reaching out to organizations.

  • Develop and implement strategies for marketing trends and CRM. 

  • Monitor and post events on all media

  • Design flyers on Canva-for-Nonprofits and Google Slides 

INTERVIEW & SELECTION PROCESS

The organization seeks to add to the Leadership Team with an unpaid volunteer position. The best candidate would exemplify traits that align with Unmatched Athlete’s mission and goals. As a means to get an idea of who we are and vice versa, interested candidates can expect to go through a one or two month period of attending Unmatched Athlete events and/or meetings.

Recommended Metrics

  1. Reach an average of four families per event (average of 8-10 youths) that participate in the Rideshare Program by the end of 2023.

  2. Establish a relationship with at least one school in each jurisdiction 

  3. 50% increase in returning youth participants at events
