Joint Partnership with GLSEN Maryland

We are excited to announce that we will be partnering with GLSEN Maryland! For those who aren’t familiar with GLSEN Maryland, they support students and educators locally, organizing around LGBTQ-affirming public policy, planning teacher trainings, and hosting events for students, educators, parents, and allies.

We are thrilled to let you know that we are working on an event in 2022! Please keep an eye out for details!

GLSEN Maryland encourages LGBTQ+ youth and allies to participate in sports and fitness through the work of Unmatched Athlete! Unmatched's work is innovative, both with last June's pre-launch field day at UA Field House in Baltimore as well as with its schedule of bi-weekly weekend games at fields and gyms across the Baltimore-DC corridor.

Unmatched is actively creating a dedicated weekend space for youth ages 5-18, both LGBTQ+ and allies, to play sports and have fun, without mental or physical hindrances.

Unmatched invites schools to activate the framework policies and practices offered in GLSEN's “Changing the Game” Sports Project, including its 2021 Game Plan, "On the Team" 2010 report on equal opportunity for transgender athletes, and 2002 "It Takes A Team" Guide. Unmatched and GLSEN are excited to activate what may be in written policy at-large, but is not yet visible in practice.
